Rumi, the International School of Estonia’s most popular reading tutor began his third year of service at the school. To say Rumi is the most popular member of staff would be an understatement. Rumi is a licensed therapy dog and spends one day a week being read to by ISE’s MYP EAL students.

Rumi’s owner, Kadri Tomson happens to be the school’s librarian. Together, they are a certified EATKÜ (Estonian Assistance and Therapy Dog Association) Therapy dog team, ID: EST2021131. They began their Animal Assisted Learning (AAL) service in November 2021 with the cooperation of our EAL teacher, Valerian Goguadze.

Rumi is in the school one day per week and is popular with all the students. His time spent reading with students has been very successful. We hope to have Rumi continue working in our school for a long time to come.
