As we gear up for the school year, we are excited to introduce the updated members of the CEESA Executive Committee. We are pleased to welcome new leadership as we continue our mission to innovate and collaborate.
Dr. Tim Fries, Executive Committee Chair
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Tim Fries as the new Chair of the CEESA Executive Committee. Tim, who has been a dedicated member of CEESA since 2014, currently leads as the Director at the Anglo-American School of Sofia. His journey through education, spanning from the United States to Slovakia, Germany, and Bulgaria, has been a long road filled with dedication and growth.
Tim’s extensive experience—from Elementary School Principal to teacher and coach—reflects his belief that every challenge brings a chance to rise and make a meaningful impact. His commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation captures the essence of a journey where “the world is a beautiful place” and every step is a chance to improve and evolve.
Tim’s respect for CEESA and his vision for collaborative educational practices align seamlessly with our mission. As he steps into this role, we look forward to seeing his leadership guide us through exciting new horizons.
Luke Woodruff, Executive Committee Member
We are pleased to welcome Luke Woodruff to the CEESA Executive Committee.
With over 12 years of international educational leadership, Luke’s journey began in Canada and has spanned roles in China and Ukraine. Now serving as the Regional Supervisor for QSI, he has made significant contributions as Director at Kyiv International School. Luke brings with him over 12 years of leadership experience in education.
Luke is passionate about creating supportive and transparent school cultures, always striving to be the one who can save the day when challenges arise.
His commitment is for everyone to feel valued and supported, aligning perfectly with CEESA’s vision and making him a valuable addition to our leadership team.
Special recognition: Rachel Caldwell
We are honored to spotlight Rachel Caldwell, who has transitioned from her role as Chair of the CEESA Executive Committee to a valued member. After a distinguished five-year tenure as Director of Pechersk School International in Kyiv, Rachel has embraced her new position at the American International School of Bucharest. Her recent recognition as the Superintendent of the Year 2024 by the Association for the Advancement of International Education is a testament to her outstanding leadership and commitment.
