In April, IS Krakow was proud to host educators and leaders from across the CEESA region for a four-day workshop on the Adaptive Schools approach. Expertly led by Pam Ciganick from Thinking Collaborative, the event focused on the powerful idea behind Adaptive Schools: to help students succeed, the adults in the school must first learn how to work better together.

The training challenged participants to move beyond traditional “top-down” management. Instead, they focused on how to build teams that can manage themselves and solve problems effectively. Many participants shared that the experience changed how they think about school improvement. They realized that success isn’t just about individual teachers working hard, but about the whole group taking collective responsibility.

One of the biggest takeaways was the shift from jumping straight to solutions to truly listening to one another. By practicing skills like paraphrasing, educators learned how to set aside their own biases to fully understand their colleagues’ ideas. Participants left with practical tools to help their schools become more inclusive and collaborative. We are very grateful to Pam for her masterful guidance and for helping us unlock the power of collaboration.
