Aloha Lavina

Aloha Lavina is the Upper School Principal at the American International School of Zagreb.

She is an active professional development leader with the International Baccalaureate, serving varied roles as workshop leader, workshop developer, consultant for IB authorization, school visit team leader, and curriculum reviewer.

Aloha has taught Language A, Design and Humanities in the MYP, Language A and Language B in the Diploma. Aloha completed a doctorate with Nova Southeastern University in Florida, studying the effects of cognitive coaching on professional learning. Her professional interests are in cultivating adaptive schools, inclusive education, creativity and motivation, and assessment for learning. She has worked with teachers in Australia, Belgium, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Switzerland, and Thailand.
