Visual Arts Teacher Consortium

The American International School of Budapest is hosting a Consortium for CEESA, Danube and European High School Visual Arts teachers.

Hosted by the American International School of Budapest

Friday May 15-Saturday May 16, 2015

The American International School of Budapest is hosting a Consortium for CEESA, Danube and European High School Visual Arts teachers to share teaching practices, ideas, and resources and offer the opportunity for professional development and support.

On Friday, we have invited IB Art trainer and examiner, Heather McReynolds, to work with us looking at questions about implementing and teaching the new syllabus. While not intended to be a formal IB training; it will provide the opportunity to collaborate; discuss the changes to the curriculum; and share ways we are implementing them.

On Saturday, we will continue a teacher directed sharing of resources, teaching ideas, and student work. Participants are invited to share techniques, work samples, or ideas and areas of interest for this day.  Please write if you would like to share.

There will be no cost for participation in the Consortium itself.  Participants will need to arrange travel to Budapest, lodging and evening meals.  There will be a shuttle to and from AISB stopping the Art’otel on the river.  There are several hotels in the area along the river on the Buda side.

A more detailed agenda will be sent later.  For now, please send information if interested in offering a sharing session, including details of the technique or information to share.  Also, please send any suggestions for session focus.

To arrange accommodation, the following hotels are convenient to transport:

  • Art’hotel
  • Boutique Hotel Victoria
  • Lanchid 19 Hotel
  • Buda Base
