To help develop shared understandings and explore further the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, Secondary students ran a series of workshops for Primary students as part of the  International Day Celebrations at TISA.

Secondary students began by sharing a picture book with primary children that prompted discussion about a particular attribute.  All students then worked together to express their understandings and beliefs through pictorial and written means for each Learner Profile attribute. Children were encouraged to share in their home language.

It was inspiring to see the level of importance older students placed on the Learner Profile attributes and the earnest manner in which they approached their role as workshop leaders. The younger students, for their part, worked assiduously to portray the outcomes of the shared discussions.

The final display represents the thoughts, feelings and ideas of students across the school that supports the ideals of  “helping to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect” (IBO Mission Statement), through the shared development of the Learner Profile.
