AMIS Conference at the American School of Warsaw

The American School of Warsaw hosts The Association for Music in International Schools Music Educators' conference.

On November 18-19, the American School of Warsaw hosted the AMIS Educators’ Conference with 150 international school music educators from around the world in attendance.

The conference began with an inspiring performance given by all choral students in grades 5 to 12. Following the performance, Dalcroze movement specialist, Dr. David Frego, addressed the audience on the topic “Music and the Brain: What’s Going on in There?”

Over three days of numerous workshops, the conference participants shared their expertise in vocal exercises, discussed some of the alternative approaches to instrumental teaching, investigated teachers’ evaluations of musical performances and learnt how to enhance music curriculum with kinaesthetic learning strategies.

The AMIS Educators’ conference was a wonderful event filled with intensive learning and great performances.
