International Evening at Pechersk School International!

PSI was proud to hold its annual international evening on Saturday, 29th October, bringing the whole school community together.

PSI holds this event every year in autumn to demonstrate what a truly international school we are!  Our school comprises more than 40 nationalities from around the world and the international evening is a showcase to see with our own eyes all the colours of every flag, the amazing national costumes of each country, the food they are famous for, and for our staff, parents and children to come together and celebrate in this special way.

Despite the difficulties of finding a big enough space due to our major building project, our organisers pulled off an amazing coup to provide us with space, light and a warm atmosphere.

The evening kicked off with the traditional parade in which children and parents walked around showing off their national dress and waving their flags.  Following this a wonderful evening of food and drink from all of the various countries was enjoyed by all, including Chinese, Indian, Azerbaijan, British, Turkish and...well, too many to mention individually!  Each table also held a prize raffle in which anyone could bid and win a special prize from that country - there were many happy faces by the end of the evening from the prize winners to all those who had sampled the delights of the incredible cuisine.
