IICS AT THE TEB BNP PARIBAS ISTANBUL OPEN!

Our IICS community was recently invited to Koza World of Sports facility in Bahcesehir to attend Turkey’s First ATP World Tour Event, the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open.

The first ever ATP World Tour event in Turkey, the event debuted at the spectacular Koza World of Sports facility, which is promoted as the largest tennis academy in the world. The event even featured our IICS mascot, Danny the Dolphin, and Dolphin Squad students on court, while our own Leo B. served as a ball boy.

The whole of the secondary school watched the 1/4 final between Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia, and eventual champion Diego Schwartzman from Argentina. Dzumhur won the first set 7/5, while the second set went to Schwartzman in a nail-biting tiebreaker. Schwartzman then capitalized on his momentum to then take the final set, and thus the match.

It was an exciting event and hopefully the start of a great new event partnership between IICS and the Koza World of Sports facility, which is just down the road from Marmara Campus.
