Stacey Socholotuk

Stacy-SocholotukStacey is a born and raised Canadian girl from the cold and wintery lands of Northwestern Ontario.

Not being a lover of blood-sucking mosquitoes and -40 C weather, she migrated to Southern Ontario to attend Brock University. After finishing her B.A. in Child and Youth Studies and my B.Ed. in Primary/Junior Education, she worked for the District School Board of Niagara, mainly teaching Junior and Senior Kindergarten and Grade One.

Her desire to travel the world lead her to teaching English in Japan and then heading to CIS in Singapore for her first IB teaching position. While teaching Grade One and Kindergarten there, she returned to school to acquire her specialist in Librarianship and moved into the Early Years Teacher-Librarian position. After seven years in the beautiful tropics, she headed to Qatar Academy in Doha for a three-year stint as the Early Years Teacher-Librarian. During this time, she also completed her Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies (which is a fancy way of saying 21st Century Learning). Thinking it was time to experience four seasons again, Stacey landed at AISB in Romania as the Early Childhood and Elementary Teacher-Librarian. She is rediscovering her love for teaching older students and she is engaging in new training through Harvard’s Visible Thinking courses.
