Brent has a Bachelor of Arts in English, literature, and history from the University of Western Sydney as well as a Masters of Teaching at the same institution. Previous to his employment in Helsinki he worked in schools in several London boroughs teaching mainly History and Geography and began his career in Sydney as a new scheme teacher of English.
