Lindsey Peak

Lindsay-PeakLindsey Peak is currently an IB Humanities Teacher at the International School of Belgrade, and has also taught Humanities and other Social Studies subjects at Qatar Academy in Doha, Qatar, and Guamani Private School in Guayama, Puerto Rico.

She is in her seventh year of teaching, although she has been involved in the world of educating and mentoring young people for most of her life, including as a Japanese Language Village Camp Counselor and Upward Bound Advisor. Her earliest passions have included traveling, exploring new cultures, languages and cuisines, especially due to her upbringing as a Third Culture Kid in Japan, a topic on which she presented at NESA Spring Teaching Conference 2014 in Bangkok.

Lindsay’s passions are always evolving, however, and in recent years she has found her passion for yoga and meditation to be the key to keeping her ever-changing and exciting international teaching life calm and balanced. After practicing yoga on and off for 8 years, she began to deepen her own yoga practice while living in Qatar and took the next step to becoming a yoga teacher, certified in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga. She now teaches to both adults and teenagers in Serbia, and guides her Humanities students in finding simple and practical ways to manage their physical, mental, and emotional well-being through her own mindfulness experiences.
