Drama opportunity - Making Theatre Happen

Dear All,

Sorry for the second copy. Just a reminder about the following opportunity happening in Istanbul in the coming month. We have put this together to support our drama students and create a more stimulating theatre opportunity than what we have been able to find.

I would like to again send this out and ask that you please forward to your Arts department including drama, arts and music. Should anyone have any questions please let me know and we can get those answered.

We are excited to welcome St Petersburg, Vilnius and Sofia to the event and hope to also hear from you.

HS Making Theatre Happen Festival,
Istanbul 2012
No 4th Wall

Who are N2N?

They are physical, energetic and challenging, focusing on sharing ideas and working together no matter what age or background.

For N2N, it's all about 'NO FAFF' - just getting up and doing it, trying something, and our workshops give you the opportunity to do just that. Our approach, though maybe unfamiliar at first, aims to take you away from what you already know by trusting in your voice and following your instincts. And we promise you'll have fun.

With N2N help you'll find your own way of doing it. Your own, natural way of expressing yourself. You know the theory. Now you're going to make it practical.
No matter what people say, any person can get involved with these workshops.
Put your imagination on show. Check out: Check out: http://www.nose2nose.org/workshops for more details about the company.

IICS connection

We have worked with N2N and piloted a festival last year for our own students and can vouch for how good their work is, how well they interact with our International students and how much fun our students had. It's a great opportunity to just make theatre happen and allows the arts in performance work to come together under professional guidance. For any arts teacher looking for ways to expose students to ensemble work in performance they really are a dream team – Tracy Lord-Ryan ( IICS Head of Arts, Theatre/Drama teacher).

Dates

October 13th (Travel), 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th (Travel),

Who can participate:

Open to Grade 9-12 Students. DP Theatre, Visual Art & Music Students are strongly encouraged to participate.

What will you do?

You will work with the N2N team over a number of intense days on different aspects of theatre in both performance & production work. You will learn how to communication - in improvisation, character and ensemble workshops, team building exercises and the presentation of ideas.

You will select a Workshop Choice:

Set Design (10 places)
Film & Media (5 places)
Music (10 places)
Acting Ensemble (15-25 places)

And then these workshops will come together to become the performance. You will learn the art of entertaining a live audience, but with no fourth wall. The audience is not just an audience. They are used directly in improvisations, ensemble group work and characters, scenes, music, film that you have created with us.

The final performance is a selection of all the best ideas from each workshop group, led by the N2N team who are there to fill the gaps and move the show along.

YOU will create the No 4th Wall show with the N2N team.
