Lisa Rivera, Middle School counselor at the American International School of Vienna.

This workshop is designed to provide participants with an overview of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.  Participants will be offered a general overview of the program including goals, potential school-specific adaptations, and implementation techniques. Specific strategies used at the Middle School in A.I.S. Vienna will be shared such as the Just Because Program and well defined rules and consequences for bullying behaviors, including how student incidents are tracked. Participants would be best served by coming prepared with data and concerns involving bullying in their school, an understanding of the current bullying prevention programs utilized by the school, and the desire to actively participate through discussion.  Together, the workshop will seek to brainstorm how to best  prevent bullying and create a positive school climate for students and staff.
