If you are teaching reading or English/language arts, you might be familiar with reading workshop. It is a way of structuring your class with a whole group mini lesson, lots of time to read books of student choice, and small guided reading groups and individual conferences. Reader's workshop allows for differentiated instruction, personal goal setting, and, most importantly, it fosters a love of reading.

If you are using this structure in your classroom, or are interested in trying, please join us in this session. We will talk about the philosophy and research behind reading workshop, and also give strategies on how you can set it up in your class and assess the students. 

I am not an expert in this method, but love to share what I have learned so far, and want to hear what other teachers are doing in their classrooms.
