AIS Vienna has been honored as the first international school in the world with the NFHS Honor Roll status!

The NFHS or National Federation of High Schools is the governing body in the United States for all high school athletics and activities.

Through their learning portal NFHS Learn they provide over 70 online courses with the majority of them being free. There are courses for; coaches, administrators, officials, students, and parents with a number of courses also about non athletic or activity topics such as Homework Help and Understanding Vaping and E-Cigarettes.

Since 2015 it has been mandatory for AIS coaches to complete the Concussion in Sport course each year but this year we have raised the expectation to include; Fundamentals of Coaching, Protecting Students from Abuse and Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

This year the NFHS has started a school ‘Honor Roll’ program where schools are honored when they have at least 90% of coaches complete these 4 courses. With their commitment to professional development for our coaches, this week AIS Vienna became the first international school in the world to be given this recognition.
