Shannon Stanton

Shannon-StantonShannon Stanton is currently the proud principal of Alki Elementary School in Seattle, Washington.

She is on the Executive Board of Directors for Learning Forward Washington, which is leading a statewide initiative called Transforming Professional Learning, focused on providing high quality learning experiences for all educators. Prior to her work as a principal, she served as the Instructional Leadership and Professional Learning Coordinator in a suburban school district in the Seattle area where she provided professional learning experiences for central office and school administrators, instructional coaches,  and teacher leaders for 7 years. In this role, she designed and led all aspects of the district-wide instructional coaching program. Shannon holds a Master’s Degree in School Administration from the University of Washington-Bothell, a Master’s Degree in Teaching, Learning & Assessment from Lesley University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Child Development from Western Washington University. She has worked with Carrie Ekey and the International Literacy Coaching Cohorts since 2007.
