Join Michael Furdyk, Jennifer Corriero, and CEESA educators from across the region as they share their learning journey from this year's CEESA Education for Social Innovation course. Launched as a follow-up to Michael's keynote last year, teams of educators from 6 countries have been working to develop social innovation projects in their classrooms.

Participants will share highlights from their learning, outcomes of student projects, and lessons learned through the experience. You're invited to join the conversation with them and explore the opportunity to join the learning community in our next cycle!

Michael Furdyk is the Co-founder of TakingITGlobal (www.tigweb.org), which provides innovative global education programs that empower youth to understand and act on the world's greatest challenges.

Michael Furdyk is the Co-founder of TakingITGlobal (www.tigweb.org), which provides innovative global education programs that empower youth to understand and act on the world's greatest challenges.

In the past, he turned his interest in technology into several successful online companies, including MyDesktop.com, which sold to Internet.com in 1999. In 2008, he was named by Contribute Magazine as one of 10 Tech Revolutionaries Redefining the Power and Face of Philanthropy.

Michael has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, presented at TED, and was named one of Teen People's "Twenty Teens that will Change the World". Over the last decade, he has keynoted over 100 events across sectors, sharing his social media expertise and insights on youth engagement and educational reform to audiences in over 30 countries.

He sits on several non-profit boards, including the Re-Inventing Schools Coalition, and on the International Advisory Council for Microsoft's Partners in Learning program.

Jennifer Corriero is co-founder and Executive Director of TakingITGlobal, a non-profit organization that empowers youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges.

Jennifer Corriero is co-founder and Executive Director of TakingITGlobal, a non-profit organization that empowers youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges.

Over the past decade she has developed youth engagement programs supported by a range of foundations including the Knight Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, McConnell Foundation, Adobe Youth Voices, Cisco and Staples Foundation for Learning. Jennifer has presented at conferences and events in over 30 countries, including TED and the U.S. Government’s National Youth Summit.

In 2005, Jennifer was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and in 2007, as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. Jennifer has been a judge for a range of awards including the 2012 Microsoft and British Council’s Young Education Leaders, the 2011 TD Scholarship for Community Leadership and 2010 Buckminister Fuller Challenge.

Jennifer was a member of the Official Canadian Government Delegation to the World Summit on the Information Society, and has supported civil society engagement and presented at events in over 30 countries, including the UN High Level Meeting on Youth, UN Climate Change Conference, World Urban Forum and International AIDS Conference. Jennifer has previously served as a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Youth Unemployment and as the Canadian Country Chair for Global Dignity Day.

Jennifer has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, where she has also been appointed as Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Health, and has provided youth engagement strategy consulting for a range of organizations including Microsoft, TD Bank, and the Ontario Science Centre.
