Discovering Small Moments That Matter - Learning from Master Writers by Julia Fogelin

The objective of this workshop is to encourage learners to read and think critically about writers work and learn how to record and use small moments from their own lives and build them into their writing.

In this workshop inspired by Lucy Calkin's Units of Study we'll look at encouraging young writers by discovering small moments that matter. We'll think about capturing story ideas, and stretching out small moments to create interest, excitement, and detail in their writing.

We'll go on to consider powerful endings and then revise together to make sure the writing makes sense and sounds right.

We'll look at working hard by setting goals and making plans for writing time. Whilst editing and preparing for publication, we'll consider how writers can help each other.

Finally we can celebrate and share with others!
