Curriculum Design: Incorporating Freedom by Gregory Cowan

This session will be science focussed, however there will be activities and opportunities for all subject areas to develop their curriculum skeleton.

Curriculum design and review that focuses on individualised learning and allows teachers to teach to their strength. The session will be sharing the process that we have undergone at The International School of Azerbaijan and where we are heading. The design allows for access to IDU and Service Units, whilst also accommodating a national curriculum if you have one. This session will be science focussed, however there will be activities and opportunities for all subject areas to develop their curriculum skeleton.

Gregory Cowan has taught in Australia, United Arab Emirates, Finland and now in Azerbaijan.

Gregory Cowan has taught in Australia, United Arab Emirates, Finland and now in Azerbaijan. 

His curriculum experience includes the International Baccalaureate Curriculum, the Australian Queensland Curriculum and the United Kingdom National Curriculum. 

In his role as Head of Department, he is passionate about giving teachers autonomy in the classroom to empower them to take risks and develop rich learning experiences for students.
