Reading and Writing Revamped: Technology Transforms Traditional Teaching by Elise Foxall and Dawn Razidlo

Eilsa and Dawn's experiences will energize Grade 5-9 teachers to build a strong and supportive reading and writing classroom that kids love!

Two reading and writing teachers share several online programs that support individualized instruction within the workshop model of the language arts classroom. Learn how to best integrate technology into students' literacy learning, Elise and Dawn will showcase a community of online student writers, a successful model for vocabulary differentiation, and a book site that motivates readers and tracks reading habits.

Their experiences will energize Grade 5-9 teachers to build a strong and supportive reading and writing classroom that kids love!

Elise Foxall currently teaches Reading and Writing Workshop in 6th grade at the American International School Vienna.

She has taught in several international schools in Asia, South America, and Europe and in public schools in the U.S. She spends her free time learning more about meaningful integration of technology and getting outdoors.

Dawn Razidlo is enjoying her first international teaching experience in Vienna at the American International School.

Dawn Razidlo is enjoying her first international teaching experience in Vienna at the American International School. 

Dawn taught in public and private schools in Minnesota and Maine as a reading interventionist and special educator at the middle school level.  As a grade 6 Reading and Writing workshop teacher, Dawn enjoys the creative challenge of personalizing the curriculum and integrating technology.  In her free time, Dawn is a busy mom and grandmother.
