Preparing Students for an Interconnected Future: Promoting Global Perspectives through Assessment and Instruction by Judith Hegedus, Executive Director, College Board International

With the rapid rise of technological advances and growing economic interdependence between countries, global demand for higher skilled workers is critical. To address this issue, the College Board believes we must first begin by supporting students throughout their academic career to ensure they have the 21st century skills necessary to succeed at the university level and beyond.

This dynamic session will explore the Redesigned SAT and how key changes to the test will emphasize topics most crucial to college and career success, including an evidence-based reading and writing section containing significant international texts.

Furthermore, Judith will examine how assessment and instruction must be integrated to reinforce important concepts and skills. AP Capstone, a new innovative diploma program, incorporates an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Through AP Seminar and AP Research, Capstone’s foundational courses, students develop critical analysis, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills essential for an increasingly interconnected, global environment.
