Mental Toughness/Grit, Accountability & Caring... Your Teaching/Coaching Matters by Lynn Kachmarik

This session will be interactive and discuss three of the top issues that coaches and teachers face with their students and student-athletes today.

What does research tell us about how to develop mental toughness/grit in today’s youth thru high school students and student-athletes? Because of how parents are parenting, kids are not as resilient as they were 5-10 years ago, so how do you work on grit every day? Accountability continues to trend as a huge issue not only for our students but for us as coaches and teachers as well.

Every student will have a different definition of this word so what does it mean to your program and how can your coaches and teachers develop it? It is a privilege to coach/teach someone else’s child so caring equally about every child at all levels. Creating a safe and trusting environment are crucial for your students and student-athletes to reach their potential. Many different topics will be discussed as well as questions and answers.
