Teachers can educate students to become proactive agents of social change. A real education does not educate a child for today, but prepares a child to meet the challenges of tomorrow, and to drive the societal changes that can make the world a better place for everyone.
Students should be engaged in a curriculum that goes beyond major subject knowledge to incorporate an exploration of development, resources, environment, sustainable agriculture, and educational and economic growth. This presentation will share lesson ideas for integrating global citizenship into the curriculum at various levels K through 12.
The best gift we can give our students is a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of the world, and to inspire personal growth and reflection upon how they can make the greatest impact in this world.
