WARSAW, is the capital and largest city of Poland and it is located on the Vistula River. The population is about 1,717,000. The city has wonderful examples of architecture, like the St. John’s Cathedral (14th century), the Royal Castle (beginning 17th century), the Czapski Palace (18th century) which houses the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Grand Theatre (19th century) and many more churches and palaces.

  • Nancy Love “From Data-Driven Dialogue to Instructional Improvement: Building High Performing Data Teams”
  • National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA): “Leadership Training Courses”
  • AS Warsaw’s teachers and director “Let the Children Speak – The Life & Ideals of Janusz Korczak” Participants will learn about the evolution of children’s rights, child-centered pedagogies, courage and inspiration in the context of World War II and Polish/Jewish History. Participants will reflect on how, when and why values are questioned and defended (An additional flyer is posted on the CEESA webstie)
  • Pre-Conference Build with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is inviting participants to use the 2012 CEESA Conference pre-conference day building with Habitat for Humanity in Warsaw, Poland. The participants are going to work on a construction of a home for people with mental disabilities. More information can be found on the Habitat for Humanity flyer.

International School Services (ISS) sponsored Keynote Speaker: Dr. Nancy Love, who will be presenting "Unleashing the Power of Collaborative Inquiry: Connecting Data to Results"

Nancy Love is Director of Program Development at Research for Better Teaching in Acton, Massachusetts, where she heads up this education-consulting group’s research and development. A leading expert in school data use and professional development, Nancy has worked with schools across the country develop Data Coaches and high-performing Data Teams and to put research about effective professional development into practice. As former Director of the National Science Foundation-funded Using Data Project, Nancy led the design and implementation of a comprehensive professional development program to improve teaching and learning through collaborative uses of school data. Participating schools significantly increased student achievement, teacher collaboration, and uses of data to improve instruction.

SATURDAY 17 MARCH
Insurance Services International (ISI) sponsored Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jane Goodall, who will be presenting "Making a Difference: A Morning with Dr. Jane Goodall"

In her speech, Making a Difference, Dr. Jane Goodall, will bring her audience into the world of the Gombe chimpanzees? from her early observations and experiences to the latest news and stories from the field.

Dr. Goodall will also provide insight into the person behind the globe-trotting international icon:  founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, a UN Messenger of Peace, Dame of the British Empire and the subject of countless articles and television programs around the world. She will also discuss the current threats facing the planet and her reasons for hope in these complex times, encouraging everyone in the audience to do their part to make a positive difference each and every day. Hotel information

This year the conference-hotel Warsaw Marriott might not have enough hotel rooms available for CEESA's conference.

Therefore room blocks are reserved at two  overflows hotels, namely Holiday Inn Warsaw and Novotel Warsaw Centre. These hotels are in walking distance from the Warsaw Marriott. The room rate and cancellation conditions are different at each hotel. Therefore it is to be advised to read these carefully. Hotel reservations at any of these hotels has to be made by filling out the hotel reservations form.
